Guest Posting Guidelines

Guest reviews of plays are most welcome at DramaDose.

A few guidelines if you wish to contribute:

  • When you contact me for the first time, please send a sample of your writing or provide a link to it online. The writing need not be about theatre, but it should give an idea of your style.
  • The review must be your original work and must not be cross-posted on any other site.
  • The length of the review should be at least 200 words. Be expansive if you wish, the upper limit is flexible.
  • Opinions like “this play rocks” or “this play sucks” must be substantiated. Let your review talk about “why”.
  • Do not narrate the entire plot in the review. You may give an outline, but focus on how the story was told, not what the story was.
  • Criticize where you think fit, but with courtesy. Use the same voice in your review that you would if you spoke to the people responsible for the play.
  • Profanity, SMS-ese is off-bounds.
  • Third-party links in the article will be published only after admin approval.
  • If you are directly or indirectly associated with a theatre group, it would not be fair to write a review for your own group. Reviews about other plays are acceptable.

If you need any clarifications, write to me at shuchi [at] dramadose [dot] com.
